AI Can’t Create Good Complex Web Designs!
Level:
Have you seen a good complex website built from start to finish with AI? While AI can automate simple tasks, designers' creative and individual work remains essential. AI tools are not yet able to fully meet specialized customer requests, but they offer valuable support in the design process.
Artificial Intelligence and Web Design — A Perspective
In this video, we discuss how artificial intelligence (AI) influences web design and what challenges and opportunities arise as a result. At the beginning, we express the expectation that AI should quickly learn how to write code and build digital structures. But although advances in areas such as self-driving cars are impressive, AI is lagging behind in web design.
While current AI tools show potential, they are often not yet able to master complex and creative web design tasks as human designers do. There are particular challenges when designing individual animations or special customer requirements. Here we see the need for designers to continue working closely with customers to develop tailor-made solutions.
Nevertheless, it is expected that AI will play a bigger role in automating basic web design tasks in the future, for example by automatically creating structure and class names in tools such as Webflow. This could make the work process easier and faster without replacing the creative work of designers.
In addition, the human component remains important, particularly when imparting knowledge and skills. Personal courses and explanatory videos, also supported by AI translations, retain their value and can even be expanded through the use of AI.
Overall, we see AI as a valuable tool in web design, but it cannot completely replace the creative and individual work of designers.
